First Paper Piecings

This is the first set of paper piecings I have made from start to finish. I still need some practice but I think they turned out okay. The lighting was horrible when I took this picture of them so the colors are a little off. (You can tell because the paint set is white but looks pink in the photo. Yuck.)

The pattern is "U Color My World" from Treasure Box Designs. They have fantastic paper piecings. I altered the crayon to look more like a real crayon, because it was bugging me, and I added in a glue stick and pair of scissors from another Treasure Box Designs file. That is the cool thing about paper piecings, you can mix and match from different files.

Check out my mom's site, AleneyBeany.com, if you want to see some full layouts. She is a Design Team Member for Treasure Box Designs so she has crazy cute stuff.

My First Digi Stamp Card

I started getting back into scrapbooking recently. I was drawn in by all the cuteness and of course my need to do something constructive and not destructive. (huzzah...) I discovered 2 Cute Ink and loved Heidi's drawing style. She has so many adorable digi stamps for sale, as well as some freebies. :) Not only that but she holds contests or "challenges" as she calls them. If you participate you have the chance to win free digi stamps from her store.

Seeing as how I enjoy entering contests, I couldn't pass it up. This weeks challenge is the Black, Orange, and Purple Challenge. I'm a newbie to digital stamps AND card making so I decided to go with the Candy Corn Bat freebie to try it out.

I used prisma colors blended with mineral oil to color in the bat and candy corn. (That was my favorite part because I love coloring.) Then I picked out some things from my mom's massive supply of scrapbook materials and put this together. Not bad for my first digi stamp card.
